As described by Morris Blackkettle:

The Earl is a profound and commanding man. Loyal to the Grand Arch Duke and to Takshendal he maintains law and order in Overmore despite difficult odds. In recent years he has led his men against The Falcon numerous times, both in open battle and in running skirmish. So far he has proven unsuccessful in catching the elusive outlaw. I do not doubt that the Earl will evenually prevail for he is not a man to allow victory to such rabble!

The Earl usually pays his taxes pronptly, though in later years the costs of defending the county against raiding has taken its toll. It should also be noted that Overmore has not received its rightful assisstance from Takshendal either and the Earl has had to borrow money in order to maintainsecurity and prosperity for the people.

In his youth, the Earl rode to war, twice against the Turkus and once in Skavva where he fought at the Battle of Arushof. Even in his later years the Earl is a large, powerful man.

The Earl has two sons of a previous marriage, and a young daughter by his current wife, the gracious Lady Jacinta. His younger son has taken to the high seas and is currently far away in distant Bazilia. His eldest son, Miles lives at Castle Overmore where he assists his father.
